What is a BrickMyStory mosaic?

A BrickMyStory mosaic is a unique piece of "pixel art" created using small, high-quality LEGO® compatible building bricks. Founded by Disha, a LEGO® enthusiast, our brand transforms your favourite memories—portraits, pets, or milestones—into a tactile masterpiece. Each brick acts as a pixel, coming together on a group of baseplates to reveal your story in a unique fashion.

What sizes are available?

Our standard baseplates are 24x24 studs (approx. 19.2 x 19.2 cm). You can choose a single baseplate for a desk portrait or combine multiple plates (e.g., a 2x2 or 3x3 grid) for a stunning wall-sized feature. For example, 3 by 4 baseplates (12 baseplates total) will give you a size of 57.6 cm x 76.8 cm.

Pro Tip: For detailed photos or family portraits, larger sizes offer better "resolution" and look more lifelike!

Is there a size limit?

You can let your imagination flow and go big...very very big! Our software (when accessed using a computer) has a max size limit of 20x20 baseplates, which is almost 13 x 13 feet!

I like the product but feel it's difficult to build it myself. Can you build it for me?

The magic is in the making! Every BrickMyStory kit is a DIY (Do-It- Yourself) experience. It’s like a "Paint-by-Numbers" but with bricks. We provide a color-coded guide that you place under a transparent baseplate—simply match the bricks to the numbers. It’s a wonderful activity for a quiet evening or a fun family project.

But don’t worry, If you don’t have the time to assemble it or are looking for a pre-assembled piece for gifting purposes, we can do so at an additional fee. Select the option on the check-out page.

How long does it take to build?

On average, one baseplate takes about 45 to 60 minutes to complete. A standard 4-plate mosaic (2x2) is a perfect weekend project (approx. 4 hours).

Are these LEGO® bricks?

While our bricks are fully compatible with LEGO® and other major building brands, they are BrickMyStory exclusives. We have curated a specialized palette of colours to ensure skin tones and Indian landscapes look as vibrant and accurate as possible.

Is it safe for children?

Our bricks are small and can be a choking hazard. We recommend BrickMyStory for ages 3 and up. For children, adult supervision is highly recommended (and honestly, the grown-ups usually end up having the most fun!)

What if I lose a brick?

Don't panic! We always pack some extra bricks in every colour just in case one rolls under the sofa. If you’re still short, just reach out to us and we’ll send the missing pieces your way.

Where do you ship? We offer Pan-India delivery. Whether you are in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, or a smaller town, we’ll get your bricks to you. We partner with reliable Indian couriers to ensure safe passage.

How long will it take to reach me?

• Processing: 1-2 business days to custom-pack your order.
• Delivery: Usually, 3 to 7 business days depending on your location.

Planning a gift for special occasions like Diwali, Rakhi, or a Wedding? We recommend ordering at least 10 business days in advance!

What are the shipping costs? 

We offer Free Standard Shipping on all orders above ₹ 3,000. For smaller value orders, a flat shipping fee of ₹ 500 is charged.

How do I track my order?

Once your order is dispatched, you’ll receive an Email notification with a tracking link so you can follow your bricks all the way to your doorstep.

Viewing Your Linked Accounts/ Why do we ask for a log in?

If you’ve linked your Gmail account you will be able to see your linked account status on the Account Information page. We ask for a log in so that we have your saved projects with us so that you can continue on your BrickMyStory journey from where you left.

Data Privacy and Security

How are my images stored? Can I delete them?

Your privacy is as important as your creativity. For BrickMyStory account holders, images are securely stored within your Saved Designs; deleting a design will permanently remove the associated photo. If you’re building as a Guest, your uploaded photos are automatically cleared from our servers after a few days.

What is the Creator Tool?

The Creator Tool is an easy-to-use web application that instantly transforms your favorite digital photographs into a brick-mosaic design. It calculates the exact number of bricks and the specific color palette needed to recreate your image in 1x1 studs, giving you a real-time preview of your finished art piece.

How do I use the Creator Tool? It’s as simple as building with bricks:

1. Upload: Select a photo from your phone or computer.
2. Customize: Choose your mosaic size (2x2, 3x4 etc.) and crop the image to focus on the best details.
3. Preview: View the "pixelated" version of your photo to see how it will look in real life.
4. Order: Once you’re happy with the preview, the tool generates your custom kit and adds it to your cart.

Big Stories, Tiny Bricks: How to Choose the Right Size?

In the world of BrickMyStory, each brick represents one tiny piece of your memory. Because our bricks stay the same size (8x8 mm), the bigger your mosaic, the more "pixels" you have to work with and better the resolution!

If you’re eyeing a smaller frame, we recommend keeping it simple—a close-up portrait works best. If you want to capture a complex scene with multiple people or a detailed background, you’ll want to size up to a larger size. Not ready to go big? Try cropping your photo in our Creator Tool to focus on the best part; it’s the easiest way to make your mosaic look sharp and professional!

What kind of photos work best for a brick mosaic?

Because we are working with square studs, the "resolution" of your final mosaic depends heavily on the photo you choose. To get the most striking results when transforming your image into an artistic, pixelated design, here is what works best in the Creator app:

·         Close-Ups: Portraits of faces or single pets yield much higher detail and are ideal. Because the final design is a pixelated reimagining, wide-angle group shots or busy landscapes with tiny details tend to lose their impact. The closer the crop on the main subject, the better the final resolution.

·         High Contrast: Photos with a clear difference between the subject and the background work beautifully. Strong contrast between light and dark areas helps our curated 50-color palette create distinct, recognizable shapes. Avoid images that are heavily washed out or mostly one color.

·         Bright, Even Lighting: Avoid very dark or dramatic shadows across faces. Bright, even lighting ensures the colors pop and helps our tool pick the most accurate brick colors for skin tones, keeping your final mosaic vibrant rather than muddy.

·         Simple Backgrounds: Subjects set against clean, solid, or uncluttered backgrounds stand out much better once converted into bricks. A busy background can easily blend into your subject during pixelation.

Can I save my designs to finish later?

Absolutely. Your images are saved as part of your Saved Designs within your BrickMyStory account, allowing you to compare different photos or sizes before making a final choice. If you decide a design isn't quite right, you can delete it at any time, which also removes the uploaded image from our system.

What if I don't want to create an account?

You are welcome to use the Creator Tool as a Guest. Please note that for privacy and server efficiency, any photos uploaded by guest users are automatically deleted from our servers after a few days. We recommend creating an account if you want to save your progress over a longer period!

Can I change the colors of my mosaic?

Our tool is designed to automatically select the best matches from our curated color palette. While the tool does the heavy lifting, you can play with different photo filters or brightness settings before uploading to see how the brick colors react.

I’m not tech-savvy. Can you design it for me?

While our tool is designed to be user-friendly, we understand that some stories need a professional touch. If you’re struggling to get the preview just right, for a small fee, our design team can manually optimize your photo to ensure every stud is in the perfect place. Just send us an email message with your photo and we’ll take it forward!

Will my mosaic look exactly like my photo?

Think of your BrickMyStory mosaic as an artistic "reimagining" of your photo rather than a digital print. Because we translate your image into a world of bricks, the result has a beautiful, pixelated charm. While it looks like a collection of colorful studs up close, the "magic" happens when you step back—the colors blend, and your portrait comes to life! With our curated palette of 50 colours, we aim for the perfect balance between the fun of the brick and the soul of your story. Remember: the larger the canvas, the more "pixels" we have to capture every fine detail.

The beauty of your Brick Mosaics will get enhanced when you add a quality frame! We have frames available for most popular sizes. If you got a frame from us, here are the instructions on how to put it together:

1.  Open the white backboard with the double-sided adhesive strips up.
2.  If the backboard parts are not connected together, turn them around and use adhesive tape to connect them from the back. Make sure the wide rectangles are on the inside, and the narrow rectangles are on the outside.
3. Remove the protective layer from the adhesive tape, and attach the mosaic baseplates to the backboard. make sure to align them very well to avoid gaps.
4. Turn the backboard and attached mosaic upside down and lay facing down.
5. Locate the corner brackets: 4 pressure brackets (one middle hole) and 4 screw brackets (2 holes in the sides).
6. Insert the small screws into all the screw brackets - 2 screws for each bracket.
7. Layout the 4 frame rails with the front side down and identify the rail that fits the bottom of the picture (short rail for portrait, long rail for landscape, or any rail for square).
8. Slide the bottom rail onto the bottom of the mosaic.
9. With a screw bracket on top (screws face up) and a pressure bracket under it, slide both brackets into the side of the rail, and slightly tighten the screw with a screwdriver so the brackets stay in place (do not fully tighten yet). Repeat for the other side of the rail.
10. Slide the two side rails onto the sides of the mosaic and the exposed brackets angles and tighten.
11. Locate the two picture hanging brackets and combine each with a screw, then insert into the remaining top rail (with brackets aimed down) by tilting them down and then locking them in place by tightening the screw.
12. Repeat step 9 for the top frame rail.
13. Slide the top frame rail onto the top side of the mosaic and into the side rails, and tighten the screws.
14. Inspect all corners of the frame and align to avoid gaps, then fully tighten all screws.
15. With the frame still facing down, insert the tension springs between the frame and backboard in order to hold the mosaic and backboard in place.

Once you have placed your order on BMS and your payment has been authorized, your order status will appear as "Placed."

Order Processing - "In Progress"

Once you have placed your order, it will be sent to our warehouse to be processed and packed for shipment. During this time, your order status will appear as "In Progress." Please allow 1 - 2 business days for the order to be processed and prepared for shipment.

Order Delivery - "Shipped"

Once we have assigned a tracking number to your order, and it has left our warehouse, the order status will appear as "Shipped."

Cancelling or Modifying an Order

Once we have assigned a tracking number to your order, and it has left our warehouse, modifying or cancelling the order is not possible.

2. Collaborate & Perfect Within a couple of days, our designer will email you your mosaic preview. You'll work directly with them to tweak and refine the image until it is exactly what you envisioned.
3. Order Your Masterpiece Choose the design that best fits your space and your vision, once you approve the final design, we will send you the instructions and a link to officially order your awesome new Brick My Story Mosaic!
